Jewelry Care

Handcrafted jewelry is delicate and should be handled with care.

Roll on bracelets when putting on or taking off. Tugging may cause the elastic cord to break.

Remove before swimming, showering, and hot tubs. Do not submerge jewelry in water for long periods of time, and avoid contact with solvents – every gemstone property and tolerance is different, damage may occur.

Sun Sensitivity

Due to their properties, some stones are sun sensitive and should not be placed in direct or exposed to frequent sunlight as it can cause colours to fade or discolour. Prolonged exposure can also cause them to become brittle and break more easily.

Okay in the sun:
Jade, Black Onyx, Obsidian, Garnet, Pyrite, Sunstone, Moonstone

Okay for a short time:
Lepidolite, Labradorite

Sensitive:
Quartz family

If you wish to charge your sun sensitive crystals, do so in moonlight.

Cleaning

Using a soft brush or microfibre cloth, gently cleanse beads with warm soapy water, shampoo or any gentle cleaner that does not contain acid or strong impurities.
Dry with a soft cloth and store in original jute bag or in a safe, dry place.

Sterling Silver 925

Sterling silver can tarnish over time when exposed to everyday elements.

To refresh tarnished sterling silver:
Stretch the bracelet / ring out just enough to separate the sterling silver bead. Dab a little bit of toothpaste or baking soda on y our fingertip and gently rub away the tarnish. Rinse off and dry well.

To prolong sterling silver from tarnishing:
You can store your jewelry in a ziplock bag or in an air tight container, away from humidity and heat. Chalk can also be used to prevent tarnish. It is known to naturally absorb moisture and chemical residue. Just place a piece of chalk in your jewelry box or in your jewelry storage bags.

Maintenance

Stretch bracelets are recommended to be re-string every 1-2 years for quality assurance.
